Know Your Surroundings
It is always a good idea to know your directions North, South, East and West. If these are difficult for you at least know them from your residence. If you need to place a 911 emergency call on a crime in progress this information is extremely valuable to the Police responding. Something that might help you remember this is to relate them with a street in each direction of your residence. Knowledge of the streets that surround you are also a great help.
